Your Family CFO

Have you ever considered that managing your family’s finances can be just as complicated as running a business?
That’s why most successful businesses have a Chief Financial Officer to help coordinate its financial affairs. We believe successful families need the same kind of financial support, and at Moneta Group, this is what we do. We are Family CFOs.
Our role is all about serving you: providing you the customized, individual service you need, just the way an expert corporate CFO would serve the CEO. Our goal is to take the stress and complexity out of managing your own personal financial affairs, so you can live the life of your dreams.
Serving the family CEO
As your Family CFO, our responsibility is to advise you, the family CEO, on how to manage, grow and protect your family’s assets. Investment management is obviously a piece of this, but the complexities of tax planning, philanthropy, estate planning, business succession and risk management also require a wide range of expertise.
Successful Family CFOs must be specialists across all financial planning disciplines - although we recognize that no single person could be expert in all of these areas. That is why our 28 principals have diverse backgrounds as accountants, commercial bankers, small business owners, insurance wholesalers, pension attorneys, and trust officers. Each has an area of expertise to share with Moneta clients.
Our talented support staff includes a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) to run our investment department and an estate-planning attorney to consult with our clients. To handle your tax issues we have a related CPA firm, and a related Third Party Administrator (TPA)/Pension Consulting firm provides our business clients with a full range of qualified retirement plans. In total the people at Moneta have earned over 110 professional designations – clearly demonstrating our commitment to providing you expert, comprehensive advice.
Working as your Advocate
A successful Family CFO first and foremost must serve as an advocate for his or her client; protecting, promoting and defending the client’s best interest. To us, this means doing what is best and only what is best for our clients. For that reason, we fully disclose our compensation - the bulk of which is paid directly by our clients. Because we are fee-driven advisers, our clients can have confidence that our advice is designed to be in their best interests.
Measuring our Success
Rather than advertising and promotion, our focus is on providing each client an experience so far beyond their expectations they go out of their way to introduce us to their friends and associates.
Our family CFO approach has been well-received by our clients. We welcomed nearly 250 new clients in 2005 alone, increasing our client relationships by more than ten percent. Client turnover is insignificant. But perhaps most telling is that more than 90 percent of our new client relationships come to us from the referrals of other clients.
